Jesus delivers the Beatitudes from the Mount (Mt 5), and he preaches the Parables of the Kingdom from the lake (Mt 13.) Confucius used to say: “The wise find pleasure in water; the virtuous {the man of goodness} find pleasure in mounts.” Several interpretations have been given of this passage.
All in all, it seems that Confucius derives the rules of wisdom from the observation of the way of water, water knowing how to adapt to the proclivity of the field and to run its course till the sea, water showing us that the universe in motion is an endless process of change.(...)
